The garden in autumn

Autumn, tranquility and seduction

September :
The central path in the Clos Normand is particularity majestic at this time of year, covered in nasturtiums of different varieties, including the famous Lobb nasturtiums. It gives an impression of a river flowing from top to bottom. Claude Monet took his inspiration during for this his Italian stay in Bordighera. The purple dahlias create a strong, enigmatic contrast to the nasturtiums. The Clos Normand offers a visual impression of full abundance.

The water garden. The light softens, while the reflections in the water darken, creating deeper nuances. The preludes to autumn, the water lilies begin their decline.

October :
The heightened autumn colours compensate for the gradual rarefaction of flowers in the Clos Normand. We witness an ultimate explosion of the dahlias, rudbeckias, cupheas and the euryops, the Savannah daisy. The sages are now purple and blue, the asters pink, purple and white.

In the water garden, the weeping willows take on a yellowish orange hue. As for the liquidambar its fiery red is unmistakable.
The gardens are preparing to enter a long sleep.
