Poppies

The poppy (Papaver rhoeas) is a falsery fragile flower whose apparent softness has been honoured by painters.

Where to see them?
“Les coquelicots”, painted in 1873 at Argenteuil and exhibited at the Orsay Museum is one Claude Monet’s most famous paintings.

How to cultivate them?
These are the easiest annuals to cultivate. They reseed themselves and grow every year where not disturbed! We just have to thin out the seeds in springs in order to allow each one enough space to grow and to avoid disorder.
